This building's design was based on that of historic Thai palaces. The relief tile over the elephant-sized doorways was done in the style of ancient southeast Asian carvings. The tiles at the base represent the elephant-headed god Ganesha, a Hindu diety popular in mostly Buddhist Thailand.
